Receives the optical signal reflected off the bar code.
•
Converts received optical signal into electrical signal (current) of about 100 nanoamps.
•
Converts the electrical signal (current) to a suitable voltage signal level for the Decode board.
•
Discriminates and filters out all unwanted signals and noise.
