2. Connect the dc-in connector of the power adapter to the dock.
3. Connect the power plug of the power cord to an electrical outlet. Press the power button to turn on
the dock.
Note: Be sure to correctly connect the dock to the power supply. If the dock is not powered on,
you will not be able to use the dock.

Notes:
• The dock will not supply power to the notebook computer during the time when it is connected to the
notebook computer.
• Connecting the dock to any connector other than a USB 3.0 connector or using any USB cable other
than a USB 3.0 cable might impact on the dock performance, especially the video playback and Ethernet
performance. However, the supported maximum resolution will not be reduced.

Installing the device driver on Windows operating systems

After you have connected the dock to your notebook computer, you can install the device driver on the
Software and User Guide CD.
