Introduction The information in this manual provides installation and maintenance procedures for the V894CSHR-VF-C Corner-Mounted and V894WSHR-VF-C Wall-Mounted High-Security Camera/Housings. These units should only be installed by a qualified technician using approved materials in conformance with federal, state, and local codes. Read these instructions thoroughly before beginning an installation. The V894CSHR-VF-C and V894WSHR-VF-C are integrated housing/camera/lens systems.
Installation Unpacking and Inspection All Vicon equipment is inspected and tested before leaving the factory. It is the carrier’s responsibility to deliver the equipment in the same condition in which it left the factory. Inspection for Visible Damage Immediately inspect the cartons upon delivery. On all copies of the carrier’s freight bill, make a note of any visible damage.

Camera Synchronization If there is more than one unit in a system, the cameras have to be synchronized to ensure there is no roll of video. If the camera will be used in a line lock video application, the camera interface board is already set in line lock mode by default.
Compensation. The ALC setting is used for external autoiris and the ELC setting is used for internal autoiris. Pole 1 of the DIP switch is set to ON for ELC and OFF for ALC. Vicon sets the ELC/ALC mode to ELC prior to shipment.
Final Installation Steps The last installation steps include repositioning the camera and fastening the outer cover in place. 1. If the camera was removed, rotated or tilted during the cable connection, reinstall the camera and adjust until it is directed at about the center of the black mask on the inside of the housing window. Coaxial Cable Recommendations Caution: Careful selection of proper cable is essential to obtain the best performance from this equipment. Vicon assumes no responsibility for poor performance when cables other than those recommended, or equivalent, are installed. In all cases, coaxial cable impedance should be 75 ohms.
