Radio and Television Interference
Your
Amiga
generates and
uses
radio
frequency
energy
.
If it not
installed
and
used
properly
,
that
is,
in
strict
accordance with
the
instructions in
this
manual, it
may
cause
interference to
radio and
television
reception. The Amiga
has bee
n
certified
to
comply with
the limits
for a Class
B
computing
device
,
pursuant to
subpart J
of
Part 15
of
the
Federal Communication Commission's rules
,
which
are
designed
to
provide reasonable protection
against radio and
television
inter-
ference
in
a
residential installation
.
If
you
suspect
interference,
you
can
test
the
Amiga
by turning
it off and on.
If
the Amiga
does cause interference,
try the
following:
• Reorient
the
antenna or AC
plug
on the
radio
or te lev ision
.
Change the
relative
positions
of
the
Amiga
and
the
radio
or
televi
-
sion
.
• Move the
Amiga
farther
away
from
the
radio or
telev ision.
• Plug
either
the
Amiga or
the
radio or
telev
ision into
a different
outlet
so
that the
Amiga and
the radio
or
television are
on
different
c ircuits.
Use only shield-grounded cables
when
connecting
peripherals (computer
input-
output
devices
,
terminals
,
printers
,
etc .)
to
the Amiga.
All
peripherals must be
certified
to
comply with
Class
B
limits.
Operation with non-certified peripherals is likely to
result
in
interference
to
radio
and
television reception
.
Your
house
AC
wall
receptacle must be
a
three-pronged type
(AC ground).
It
not
,
contact an electrician
to
install
the proper
receptacle.
If
a
multi-connector box is used to
connect
the
computer and
peripheral
s
to
AC
.
the
ground must
be
common
to
all
units.
If necessary,
consult your
Amiga dealer
or an experienced
radio-telev
ision
technician
for additional
suggestions.
