Adjusting
The Flow
Control
find the setting that
gives you desired several-pass
proper adjustment is very important. Take the time to
coverage.
The proper output setting will be slightly different for
each paint that you use. Once you find the proper set-
ting, you can leave
it
there until the job is done, but
a
change to a different color or type of paint may require
readjusting.
To find the proper output setting: Close the flow control
gradually open the flow control (turn counterclockwise)
(turn the knob clockwise).
While painting on paper,
and watch how the pattern coverage changes.
Don't turn the knob too fast. When the pattern sudden-

When painting with latex paint, use the setting found
for proper output only. Turning the knob past this set-
ting point may give you a ragged or irregular pattern; to
correct this just close the flow control and readjust.
When painting smaller objects or using oil base paint,
reduce flow to allow slower movement and better con-
trol. Begin the same way, with the flow control closed.
Adjust to the desire flow.
To
paint trim and narrow edges, close the gate as need-
ed to narrow the pattern. Keep moving a t the same
speed.
