Test page does not print

These are possible solutions. Try one or more of the following:
Make sure the printer is receiving power
If is not on, the printer may not be receiving power.
•
Press .
•
Plug the printer into a different electrical outlet.
•
If the printer is plugged into a surge protector, unplug the printer, and plug it directly into an electrical outlet.
Make sure the sticker and tape are removed from the print cartridges

Pull the control panel up.

Raise the cartridge access door.

Press down on the cartridge carrier levers to raise the cartridge carrier lids.

Remove the print cartridges from the print cartridge carrier.

Make sure the sticker and tape are removed from the bottom and back of the cartridges.
Make sure the cartridges are properly installed
Raise the cartridge access door to see instructions on proper print cartridge installation. If you are using a color
cartridge, make sure it is properly installed in the right carrier. If you are using a black cartridge or photo cartridge,
make sure it is properly installed in the left carrier.

Make sure the Lexmark printer driver is set as the default printer
To set the printer driver as the default printer:

From the Finder desktop, choose Applications

From the Printer List dialog, select your printer.

Click the Make Default icon.
To test the solution, print a test page.

From the Finder desktop, double-click the Lexmark 5000 Series icon.

Double-click the Lexmark 5000 Series Utility icon.

From the Maintenance tab, click Print Test Page.
Make sure the USB cable is installed properly
The problem may be with the cable connections.

Check the USB cable for any obvious damage.

Firmly plug the square end of the USB cable into the back of the printer.

Firmly plug the rectangular end of the USB cable into the USB port of the computer.
The USB port is marked with the
Utilities Print Center or Printer Setup Utility.
