SECURING THE INSERT WHEN USING HEAVY FACES
When using a heavy face with this fireplace (e.g. Artisan Face), you may wish to secure the
fireplace to the framing or floor to prevent it from tilting forward. This is especially important
if the fireplace is raised above the hearth.
Recommendations for Framed-In Applications
If this appliance is framed in, we recommend using plumbing straps or brackets to secure the
front of the fireplace to the drywall and/or framing. Secure the straps to the side or upper
flanges on the fireplace (do not screw into the fireplace). Secure the strap in a location where
it will be concealed by the face. This allows the straps to be disconnected if the appliance
needs to be removed from the framing.
Recommednations for Insert Applications
If the appliance is placed inside a fireplace (a.k.a. "insert"), we recommend using brackets to
secure the fireplace to the base of the fireplace. Remove one of the screws on the back or side
of the fireplace and secure the appliance to the floor using plumbing straps or brackets.
FRAMING DIMENSIONS WHEN BUILT IN
NOTE: Make sure the opening for the framing is constructed to the dimensions listed above (31-
7/8" wide by 26-3/4" tall). This ensures the face properly conceals the opening at the same time
allowing the fireplace to insert into the cavity.
When installing the fireplace, take care when routing the power cord. You may wish to allow for
additional space behind the framing for power cord access.
