Monitoring Keys

A monitoring key (or MNS key) is a key that allows you to monitor and
answer calls to other extensions, as well as make calls to the monitored
extension.
Note: MNS keys are programmed as a shortcut keys by the system
administrator.
The monitoring feature is especially useful in Boss-Secretary applica-
tions.
You answer a call to an monitored extension by pressing the shortcut
key which the extension has been programmed to.
The shortcut displays one of the following status indications:
The indicator lamp is off: The monitored extension is free.
The indicator lamp is flashing fast: The monitored extension has
an incoming call waiting to be answered.
The indicator lamp is on: The monitored extension is busy.
The indicator lamp is flashing slowly: The monitored extension
is put on hold.
Note: When you log on to another IP phone, all monitoring keys are
moved automatically to the other telephone.
For information on how to edit a shortcut key, see 14.4.2 Editing an MNS
Key on page 87.
Recording
It is possible to record your calls to a central recording equipment, if the
system administrator has initiated this feature.
There are two options:
The type of calls to be recorded are defined in the recording equip-
ment by the system administrator. You do not have to do anything
to start the recording. As soon as a call is recorded the icon
appears in the display.
