5 TROUBLESHOOTING
Phenomenon
The copy image is fogged.
The density level of the copy
image is uneven in a horizon-
tal direction.
The copy image is partially
missing.
The copy image has black
streaks in a horizontal direc-
tion.
The copy image has white
streaks in a horizontal direc-
tion.

Before Calling Service Technician
Usual cause
There is a slight gap
between the original glass
and the original.
The copy paper is damp.
The transfer charger wire is
dirty.
The size or direction of the
copy paper and the original,
or the reproduction ratio is
not set properly.
The scanning area or guides
are stained.
The charger is dirty.
The transfer charger wire is
dirty.
Countermeasure
Lower the Platen Cover (optional) or the
Automatic Document Feeder (optional)
fully so that the original will contact with
the original glass.
Replace with dry copy paper.
Clean the transfer charger wire.

Use copy paper of the same size as the
original or set the reproduction ratio suit-
able to the copy paper size.
Clean them.
