Vl
Use this mode for taking portraits in which the main subject
stands out clearly. Portrait subjects exhibit smooth, natural-
looking skin tones.
• The camera automatically detects and focuses on a face
looking toward the camera (see "Shooting with Face Priority"
(lIJ123) for more information).
• Ifthe camera detects multiple faces, the camera focuses on the face closest to the camera
• If no face is recognized, the camera will focus on the subject in the center of the frame.
• The

Landscape

Use this mode for vivid landscapes and cityscapes.
• Camera focuses at infinity When the shutter-release button is
pressed halfway, the focus area or focus indicator (lIJ8)
always lights green; however, focus may not be set for nearby
subjects, while the camera focuses at infinity.
• AF-assist illuminator does not light regardless of the AF assist (lIJ145) setting .
