Use this option to determine where the camera focuses.
When digital zoom is in effect, the camera will focus on the subject in the center
focus area regardless of the applied
AF area mode
option.

Face priority
The camera automatically detects and focuses on a
face looking toward the camera (see "ShootirlCj with
face Priority"
(CDl23)
for more information). If the
CcHilel'a detects multiple faces, the carnera focuses

closest to the camera.
When shooting pictures of subjects other than people,
or framing a subject with which no face is recognized,
AF area mode will be set to
Auto.
