Example:
If M is "16.25 mm" and "F" is "+4", then:
T1 = 17 .5 mm + (+4)/100 - 16.25 mm
= 17 .5 mm + 0.04 - 16.25 mm
= 1.29 mm (0.051 in)
If M is "16.26 mm" and "F" is "-3", then:
T1 = 17 .5 mm + (-3)/100 - 16.26 mm
= 17 .5 mm - 0.03 - 16.26 mm
= 1.21 mm (0.048 in)
(3) Select the forward gear shim(s) (T1).
