On / Off switch.
The LED glows when the unit is switched on and ready to
use.
Note:
If the SACD 1260 R is connected to a pre-amplifier,
integrated amplifier or receiver within an 'R' system, it
can be switched off, with the whole system, by pressing
the 
 button on the remote control handset.
Note:
The mains button is not a mains isolation switch. Even
when the LED is not glowing parts of the machine
remain connected to the mains power supply (Standby
mode). The stand-by current drain is stated in the
chapter entitled 'Specification'.
If the unit is not to be used for a long period we
recommend that you disconnect the mains plug at the
wall socket.
CD Drawer
The drawer of the SACD 1260 R consists of a
combination of a special plastic with good damping
qualities,
and
solid,
aluminium. It's floating and flexible suspension system
eliminates the transfer of mechanical vibration to the disc,
which can have an adverse effect on the sound.
Button for opening and closing the drawer.
With this button, the bandwidth of the analogue output
filter can be switched between 60 kHz (normal mode) or
100 kHz ('WIDE' mode).
A security switch at the back panel of the SACD 1260 R
must be set to the 'WIDE ENABLE' to allow the wide
bandwidth position to be chosen. 'WIDE' mode cannot be
chosen without the security switch set to 'WIDE ENABLE'
(also see: chapter 'Back Panel Connections').
Note:
The position 'WIDE' should only be used in combination
with amplifiers that are capable of reproducing audio
frequencies up to or beyond 400 kHz. If in doubt, please
consult the manual of your amplifier or ask the
manufacturer.
In combination with all  amplifiers the 'WIDE' position
can be used without limitation.

This button switches the phase of the signal from normal
to inverse phase and back.
The human ear is certainly capable of detecting absolute
phase when listening to particular instruments and
voices.
However, absolute phase is not always correct on
commercial recordings, and in this case you can invert it
(i. e. turn it through 180° ) by pressing this button.
The correction occurs at the digital level and therefore
has no effect at all on sound quality.
Note:
The symbol  on the screen glows continuously when
INVERSE mode is switched on.
Selection of the oversampling method.
Repeatedly pressing this button cyclically steps through
the various oversampling algorithms offered by the
SACD 1260 R.
A detailed description of the oversampling algorithms can
be
found
in
chapter
Oversampling'.
Selects the audio playback mode
• When the disc is stopped this button chooses between
the CD or SACD layer of hybrid SACDs.
• During
playback
multichannel areas this button toggles between stereo
or multichannel playback. The multichannel layer of
SACDs are played back as a two channel downmix by
the SACD1260R (additional explanations can be found
in the chapter 'Listening to SACD').
Switches cyclically through the different repeat functions
of the SACD 1260 R (see chapter 'Operating the
SACD 1260 R').
