The printer self test prints out pages that let you check if the printer is working correctly. The
printer does not necessarily have to be connected to the host to perform this test.

Printing the Printer Self-Test Page

1. Check that continuous form is loaded in the printer (see Step 6).
Caution:
The Self-Test is performed to check the complete carriage movement, i.e over 136
columns. To avoid damage to the platen, please make sure, that 136 columns wide
paper is loaded.
2. Press the
Set-Up
button to enter Set-Up mode.
The display shows "MACROS".

3. Press the
button three times, until the display shows "TEST/HEX-DUMP".
D
4. Press the
button.
The display shows "Self-test".
5. Press the
Sel/Save
The display shows "Printing test ...". See next pagefor a sample of the print-out.
6. To stop the self-test, press the
The printer returns to the Set-Up mode. The display shows "Self-test".
7. Press the
button to return to Normal mode.
Exit
8. Check that all characters are correctly printed, i.e. the sequence is complete and is correctly
flushing, the characters are complete and all printed with the same intensity.
