Troubleshooting

Please check following points. For details, see the corresponding pages.
Problem
Power does not turn
on.
No picture appears.
The picture is fuzzy.
The color is pale or
grayish.
No sound from the
internal speaker.
The remote control
does not operate.
The control buttons of
the projector do not
operate.
The picture does not
display correctly.
Picture from a
computer does not
appear.
Picture from a HDMI
device does not
appear or picture is
not stable.
No sound is output
from a HDMI device.
The
mark appears
on the screen.
Attention
f If the problem persists, after confirming the contents of the table, please consult your dealer.
Chapter 5 Maintenance - Troubleshooting
f The power cord may not be connected.
f No electric supply is at the wall outlet.
f The circuit breakers have tripped.
f Is the power indicator <ON(G)/STANDBY(R)> or the warning indicator
<WARNING > indicator lit or blinking?
f The lamp cover has not been securely installed.
f The video signal input source may not be connected to a terminal properly.
f The input selection setting may not be correct.
f The [Brightness] adjustment setting may be at the minimum setting.
f The input source which is connected to the projector may have a problem.
f The AV mute function may be in use.
f The lens focus may not have been set correctly.
f The projector may not be at the correct distance from the screen.
f The lens may be dirty.
f The projector may be tilted too much.
f [Color] or [Tint] adjustment may be incorrect.
f The input source which is connected to the projector may not be adjusted
correctly.
f RGB cable is damaged.
f The input terminals may not have been correctly connected.
f The volume may have been set to the minimum level.
f The AV mute function may have been turned on.
f When the VARIABLE AUDIO OUT is plugged-in, the projector's built-in speaker
is not available.
f The Mute function may have been turned on.
f The batteries may be weak.
f The batteries may not have been inserted correctly.
f The remote control signal receptor on the projector may be obstructed.
f The remote control unit may be out of the operation range.
f Strong light such as fluorescent shine onto the signal receptor.
f Is the operation of the remote control set to disabled in [Key lock] of the [Setting]
menu?
f When different codes are set on the projector and on the remote control.
f Is the operation of the control panel set to disabled in [Key lock] of the [Setting]
menu?
f There may be a problem with the VCR or other signal source.
f A signal which is not compatible with the projector is being input.
f The cable may be longer than the optional cable.
f The external video output from a laptop computer may not be correct.
f Is the HDMI cable securely connected?
f Turn off the power of the projector and the connected devices. Then turn the
power of the projector and the connected devices back on.
f Isn't unsupported signal cable connected?
f Set the sound channel of the attached device to Linear PCM.
f Connect the computer to the <HDMI IN> terminal through the HDMI-DVI
conversion cable, set [Sound] of [HDMI Setup] to [Computer], and then input the
analog audio signal to the <AUDIO IN 1> terminal.
f To inform that the projector cannot execute the operation. Check the connections
and the input signals, then operate correctly.
