    The SKYMASTER ® DVR 7500 is a digital satellite receiver Please note that you need a suitable digital satellite antenna to operate the SKYMASTER ® DVR 7500. To be able to receive ASTRA and EUTELSAT, it must be equipped with a Digital LNB.

The television and the receiver should be located in the immediate vicinity of the antenna. It is almost impossible to align the reception system by “shouting” e.g. from a distant television.     7. Connections Connecting to the TV unit You use a SCART cable for connecting to the TV set. If you have a TV with a 16:9 screen, for example, you can adjust the settings to match your TV set in the receiver's screen menu. The default screen format is 4:3. If your TV set does not have a Scart socket, use an appropriate adapter or use the 3 cinch outputs.

Installation/Settings When manually changing or adding a transponder, the frequency (5-digit in MHz), the polarisation horizontal or vertical (H/V) and the symbol rate (SR, usually 5-digit 27500 or 20000) have to be known. Obtain these values from satellite operators or from TV and specialist magazines.

    10. Daily Use: SAT TV and SAT Radio The most important basic functions and on-screen displays (OSD) are described in detail below. Whilst watching TV or listening to the radio, it is possible to open the respective programme information on screen via INFO. The content and scope of this information is made available by the channel operator.

    11. Channel Manager Favourite Channels Favourite lists: Your favourite channels can be accepted in eight different channel lists, thus providing an improved overview. For example, sort all news channels in “Favourite 2” and all sports channels in “Favourite 3”. Note: Press the red button in the channel manager menu repeatedly to open the favourite lists.

    11. Channel Manager Lock Channels Open the TV channel manager menu, press the green button and select “Lock”. Use this function to lock any channel against unauthorised access. Firstly, select the channel to be locked and then press OK. The lock symbol appears next to the channel.

    12. Hard Drive Recorder Your receiver is equipped with either a 80 or 160 GB hard drive and is able to record a programme while simultaneously playing a previously recorded one. If you should happen to miss a scene whilst recording a programme, you can return to this scene and watch it without interrupting the current recording process! Afterwards you can carry on watching the current recording.

    12. Hard Drive Recorder Playback Mode In playback mode it is possible to play previously recorded programmes, but not possible to record others. Simply press PLAY to switch on the playback mode. Hard Drive Recorder EPG Recording In addition to the visible and audible picture and sound signals numerous channel operators also transmit further information, e.g. EPG (“Electronic Programme Guide”). The EPG contains all the information required to program a recording. Press EPG, an overview of all the current and upcoming programmes of the channel operator appears.

    12. Hard Drive Recorder Lock: The programme cannot be played until the password has been entered (parental control password). Rename: The displayed name of a recording can be changed via the on-screen keyboard. Delete: Delete individual recordings. The storage space which is now free can be used for new recordings.

    13. EPG (Electronic Program Guide) The EPG is an “Electronic Programme Guide” for TV and radio channels which supply additional information about the respective programme package. For example, it provides the title of the current programme or radio title. An overview also presents trailers of upcoming programmes of the channel operator.
