Step Checks
1 Try copy paper of a type
recommended by Canon.
Is the problem corrected?
2 Is the copy paper curled or wavy,
or otherwise deformed?
3 Is the movement of the pick-up
sensor lever smooth?
4 Check the movement of the pick-
up guide plate found under the
pick-up roller. Is its movement
smooth?
5 Is the pick-up roller deformed or
worn?
Step Checks
1 Try paper of a type recom-
mended by Canon.
Is the problem corrected?
2 Is the copy paper curled or wavy,
or otherwise deformed?
3 Is foreign matter found in the
feeding assembly?
4 Is the static eliminator soiled with
toner?
5 Is the registration roller worn,
deformed, or soiled?
YES/NO Remedies
YES Advise the user to use
recommended paper.
YES Replace the copy paper;
advise the user on the
correct method of storage.
NO Adjust the movement of
the pick-up sensor lever.
NO Check the position of the
spring of the pick-up guide
plate.
YES Replace the pick-up roller.
