11. Press the MEMORY button. Preset function and "0" blink.
12. Turn the VOLUME control to set the desired function.
Functions for selection appears:
CD v TUNER v TAPE v VIDEO v REC TU
In this example. "TAPE" is selected.
13. Press the MEMORY button, desired function remains lit. " 0 "
keep blinks for about 8 seconds. Then the display comes back to
blinks for 8 seconds
When the timer ON time arrives, the power is turned on automatically
and the unit starts playing with the preset function selected.
" 0 " remains lit while timer operation is engaged,
When the timer OFF time arrives, the power turns off and the
timer is set to the standby mode. Timer operation repeats this
cycle every day.
To check the timer settings
Turn on the power, then press the CLOCK/TIMER button repeatedly.
The timer settings are displayed in the following order.
Timer on time.
Timer off time.
Original preset function.
Original display returns.
Cleaning the tape heads
To ensure continued high performance, use cotton swab to clean the
heads, pinch roller and capstan of the decks after about every 10 hours
of use. If the dirt persists, soak the swab in a little methylated spirit or
head cleaning fluid and then clean.

To change the timer settings
1. Press the CLOCK/TIMER button to select the setting to be

To release the timer
Press the CLOCK/TIMER button for at least 1 second, " 0 " display
To set the timer again with the same settings
1. Press the CLOCK/TIMER button for at least 1 second to display " 0 ".
2. Press the z/ON button to switch off the power.
The timer operation is released if a power failure occurs.
Using the sleep timer
The sleep timer automatically switches off the power after a preset time
has elapsed. There are 9 time periods available: 90, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40,
30, 20, and 10 minutes.
Press and hold down the SLEEP button to select the desired sleep
time. "SLEEP" blinks and the selected time appears on the display.
After several seconds, the original display returns, "SLEEP" remains
To release the sleep timer while in operation
Press the SLEEP button, "SLEEP" disappears from the display. The
timer is also released if the power is switched off.
Cleaning the unit
Clean the outside of the unit with a clean soft cloth, moistened with
lukewarm water. Do not use benzene, thinner or alcohol since they will
mar the finish of the surfaces.
Cleaning the CD player lens
The lens should never be touched. If dust is on the lens, blow it off using
a camera lens blower. (Fig. 10) (Consult your dealer.)
