4. Press MODE to switch the function to STEP counter mode. The word STEP will appear on the display. Continuously press the MODE button. The functions will appear in the following sequence:
TO SET THE CLOCK
At this time you should go into the TIMER mode to set the clock. When the screen shows the clock function, press the set button. Press the +/H button to advance the hours. When setting the time you can only advance the numbers. Once you reach
12, the numbers will start again from 1; a "P" will appear on the screen when you reach PM. Press the +/M to adjust the minutes. This also only advances so you must reach "59" before the minutes go back to "00" and start counting up again.
You can then press the MODE button to lock into the time or let 5 seconds lapse before it will automatically set the time.
TO MEASURE YOUR STRIDE LENGTH
The next step is to enter your stride length into the unit. To do so, you must first measure your stride length as follows:
a) Walk 10 steps
b) Measure the distance that you've walked either from heel-to-heel or toe-to-toe.
c) Divide the distance you've walked to arrive at your stride length.
EXAMPLE: If the measured distance is 360 inches, divide that by 10 steps. Your stride length would then equal 36 inches.
IMPORTANT: Remember that the length of your stride while walking is different than the length of your stride while running. If you plan to use this pedometer for both exercises, you will have to reprogram your stride length whenever you go from
one to the other.
TO ENTER YOUR STRIDE LENGTH
Now you're ready to enter your stride in the pedometer. While in DISTANCE mode, press SET. When the LCD display is flashing, use the +/H or the –/M button to increase/decrease the value of your stride length. Press the MODE button or wait
5 seconds for your stride to be set. Your pedometer is programmed to progress/recede in increments of 1 inch/1 centimeter from 12 – 96 inches or 30 – 240 cms. The default values are 30 in or 75 cm.
TO ENTER YOUR WEIGHT
While in CAL mode, press the SET button. When the LCD display is flashing, use the +/H and/or –/M buttons to set your weight into the unit. Press the MODE button or wait 5 seconds for your weight to be set. The unit is programmed to
progress/recede in increments of 1 lb./1 kilogram from 60 lbs./30 kg's. to 300 lbs./135 kg's. The default values for the weight setting are 100 lbs/50 kgs.
