98561-66512 Processor Board
General Description
The 98561-66512 processor board has the following features:
• MC6840 Systenl Timer.
• 10 MHz MC68010 microprocessor.
• Boot ROM.
• Eight Self-Test LEDs
• 1 M-byte of RA11,
• MCA2800ALS RAM Controller.
• Memory Management Unit.
• HP -IB Interface.
• RS-232 Interface.
• Bit-Mapped Monochromatic Video Output.
• HP-HIL Keyboard Electronics with battery backed-up Real Time Clock.
• Miscellaneous other components needed by HP Operating Systems (HP-UX, Pascal, BA-
SIC).
Figure 3-9 is a block diagram of the 98561-66512 processor board. Refer to this diagram for
functional descriptions.
This processor is the same as the 98561-66511 except for the amount of RAM.
RAM
One M-byte of RAM is contained on the 98561-66512 board. This RAM has optional parity
and is auto-locating to 1 M-byte boundaries in the computer's memory map. Auto-locating
means the processor's RAM will respond to 1 M addresses that exists immediately below blocks
of addresses the accessory RAM cards are configured for. This block of addresses may also be
between the addresses accessory RAM cards are configured for providing exactly 1 M addresses
exist. If accessory RAM cards are configured such to have an empty section of RAM of less than
1 M addresses, an error will occur during the turn-on memory test.
