    Hewlett–Packard Preliminary and Confidential Audio Interfaces The Model B132L/B160L workstation has audio input and output capability through external input and output connectors on the rear panel, Headphones (headphone–out) and Microphone (Microphone–in) connectors on the front panel plus a built–in speaker. The rear panel contains the Line–IN (Stereo line–in) and Mic , and Audio OUT (Stereo line–out) and Headphones connectors.
  • Page 14 The PS/2 connectors provide an interface for the PS/2 style keyboard and mouse to the system. HP Parallel I/O Interface The 25–pin HP Parallel I/O interface uses Centronics interface protocols to support peripheral devices such as printers and plotters. Refer to Appendix C of the B Class Owner’s Guide for information about connecting SCSI devices to the workstation.

    Hewlett–Packard Preliminary and Confidential Hardware Architecture The Model B132L/B160L is a desktop or desk–side system designed to be easy to operate and upgrade. The features in this package are designed for user access to the majority of system upgradeable parts (disks, memory SIMMs, and processors) by removing the main tray.

Chassis Dimensions System Board Assembly The system board contains the PCX–L2 processor, the main system memory, the core I/O, and the standard on–board GRAFFITI graphics subsystem.
  • Page 26 Hewlett–Packard Preliminary and Confidential Graphics The on–board graphics subsystem is based upon the GRAFFITI graphics system. It consists of a GRAFFITI chip, a current reference, two synchronous graphics RAMs, and a serial EEPROM. The on–board graphics supports up to a 1280x1024 resolution monitor. An additional daughter card containing two SGRAM can be attached to the B132L/B160L system board to support 1600x1200 resolution monitors.

At the present time, agreement has been reached on the following specifications. Air Flow The B132L/B160L is cooled by forced convection using two 92mm DC fans. The direction of airflow is from the front of the workstation to the back.
