Quick Installation Guide

This document guides you through the basic steps to install and configure the ALI-IPU3030RV cameras. The
ALI-IPU3030RV camera features:
3 MP high resolution sensor
2.8 - 12 mm vari-focal lens
Full 1080P HD real-time video with H.264 compression
IR LEDs with illumination up to 100 feet
3D-DNR noise reduction, Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), Backlight compensation
Dual power capable - Power over Ethernet (PoE) or 12 Vdc
Weatherproof - IP66 rated and Vandalproof - IK10 rated
Internal MicroSD card storage up to 64GB (card not provided)
Audio I/O, Alarm I/O

Step 1.
Install the camera
The camera includes hardware to install it directly to a mounting surface or to the Junction box provided.
The camera can be installed on a ceiling (horizontal surface) or wall (vertical surface). To install the camera,
do one of the following:
To mount the camera directly onto a mounting surface
Mounting screw hole
1.
Determine the best fasteners for securing the camera to mounting surface. The mounting hardware
provided is suitable for most surfaces.
2.
Using the Drill Template provided, mark the location of the mounting screw holes. If mounting the
camera onto a vertical surface, orient the Drill Template so it is vertical, as shown in the photo above.
If the drop cable will be routed through the mounting surface, mark the location of the hole for the
camera drop cables. NOTE: The camera drop cables can also be routed through the opening in the
edge of the camera mounting base.
3.
Drill holes for the mounting fasteners, and for the drop cables where needed.
4.
Route the network LAN, power, and ALARM and AUDIO peripheral cables to the installation location.
5.
Continue the installation with Connect camera drop cables to peripherals, LAN and power
below.
To mount the camera using the Junction box
1.
Using the Junction box as a template, mark the location of the Junction box mounting screw holes.
If routing cables for the LAN, power, and the alarm and audio peripherals through the mounting
surface, mark the location for that hole too. NOTE: If installing the box onto a vertical surface in a
location subject to moisture, observe the orientation for TOP and BOTTOM marked inside the box.

  • Page 2 Install the Alibi Discover Tool The Alibi Discover Tool is a software utility used to “discover” Alibi cameras and NVRs/DVRs installed on the LAN and change their network settings. The tool is provided on the CD with your camera. To use the tool: Insert the software CD provided with your camera into an optical drive on the Microsoft Windows computer you will use to access your camera on the LAN.

    URL field. In the example below, the IP address of the camera is 192.168.75.76. After clicking Add, the IP address will appear in the Websites list. Click Close. If this login is the first login to an Alibi camera from your computer and browser, continue with the following sub-steps to install WebComponents: After a successful login to the NVR, a message will appear in the middle of the Live View window requiring you to load a plug-in.
