Using a SIM Card

Using Your 9570 Portable Dock
You can use shared SIM (Subscriber Identity
Module) cards with the 9570 Portable Dock. A SIM
card contains your telephone number, system
authentication, service details, and memory for
storing Phone Book entries and messages.
You can insert a SIM card in the
9570 Portable Dock, in the 9500 Portable Phone, or
both.
Whenever the 9570 Portable Dock needs to access
a SIM card, it initially looks for the card in the
auxiliary SIM card slot. If it doesn't locate a SIM
card in the auxiliary SIM card slot, the
9570 Portable Dock then looks for a card in the
9500 Portable Phone.
If there are SIM cards in both the auxiliary SIM card
slot and the phone, the 9570 Portable Dock uses
the card in the auxiliary SIM card slot.
Note: If you have activated your phone's SIM card
PIN code, the card is secure while the phone is
docked. No one else can use the phone's SIM card
without the card's required PIN security code.
Note: You cannot remove a SIM card from the
9500 Portable Phone when the phone is docked
and locked.
If neither the phone nor the 9570 Portable Dock
contains a SIM card, only emergency calls are
allowed. (See the 9500 Portable Phone User's
Guide for more information.)
