Locks outboard in a fully tilted position.
Outboard must not be run i n full tilt lock
position, as water pickups in lower unit
would be out of the water and water pump
To engage tilt lock lever:
Tilt outboard to full u p position. Push in o ~ n
tilt lock lever knob and turn tilt lock lever
toward transom bracket. Lower outboard
until tilt lock lever rests o n transorn
bracket.
To disengage tilt lock lever:
Tilt outboard to full u p position. Push In o n
tilt lock lever knob and turn tilt lock lever
away from transom bracket.
The trim tab will help to offset steering
pull caused b y propeller torque at high
speeds or extreme tilt angles. If boat pulls
to the left, loosen bolt and rotate trailing
edge of trim tab t o the left (as viewed from
behind outboard). If boat pulls to the right,
rotate trim tab to right. Tighten cap screw
IMPORTANT The trim tab is made of spe-
cial alloy to protect outboard housings
from galvanic corrosion. DO NOT paint or
place proteche coating on the trim tab.
BATTERY and ELECTRICAL
ACCESSORIES
Failure to observe correct polarity when
connecting battery leads to battery will
result i n damage to the charging system
on electric starting models.
IMPORTANT: Secure battery in a favorable
position in the boat.
Any accesso41es such as h o r ~ ~ s , Ilghts,
