OPERATION
Hydraulic Quick Couplers
New attachments and new BRUTUS HD and HD
factory equipped with flush face couplers. If installing an attach-
ment equipped with other couplers, the attachment couplers will
have to be changed to match the BRUTUS. See your dealer for
parts.
Tip: Make sure the quick couplers are fully engaged. If the quick cou-
plers do not fully engage, check to see that the couplers are the
same size and type.
WARNING!
AVOID BURNS
Hydraulic fluid, tubes, fittings and quick couplers can get hot when
running machine and attachments. Be careful when connecting and
disconnecting quick couplers.
To Connect:
Remove dirt or debris from the both the female and male
couplers. Visually check the couplers for corrosion, damage or
excessive wear, if any of these conditions exist, the couplers must
be replaced. Align the notched out area of the sleeve (Item 1)
with the ball on the base (Item 2) and retract the sleeve on the female coupler. Insert the male coupler and push the couplers
tightly together. Pull back firmly on the male coupler to make sure the couplers have engaged properly.
To Disconnect:
Align the notched out area of the sleeve (Item 1) with the ball on the base (Item 2). Push the couplers together, retract the
sleeve on the female coupler until the couplers disconnect. Pull to disengage the male coupler.
For First Time Installation
With the utility vehicle's engine off, connect the attachment couplers to the utility vehicle couplers. Check the attachment
hoses so they are not twisted and they route to the utility vehicle without contacting any moving parts. Tighten all connections
before starting the utility vehicle.
Tip: Check the attachment hydraulic hoses so the hoses are not twisted or contacting any moving parts of the BRUTUS or attachment.
