2-4 Operation Ease
-1.5-inch amorphous silicon TFT LCD monitor with low power consumption back light
The PowerShot A300 uses the highly detailed, newly developed amorphous silicon TFT LCD monitor. Even
outdoors, the visibility of this LCD monitor is greatly improved due to the efficient absorption of
external light as a result of a special optical film. Furthermore, this allows the use of a weaker back-
light than conventional monitors, thereby reducing power consumption.
-Slide type lens cover suggests easy operation
The PowerShot A300 has moved from the PowerShot A200/A100 lens cover, which operates with a one-click
(rotational) method to open and close, to a sliding style of cover. The sliding cover makes it easy to
see how to open and close the cover as well as making it possible to check if the cover is open or
closed at a glance.
- New UI (Function buttons improves operability)
The PowerShot A300 include a Function button. Pressing the Function
button displays frequently accessed settings* and likely values
(shooting parameters) for each setting on the LCD monitor.
Desired settings can then be easily accessed with the cross but-
tons. This results in a clearer understanding of the control pro-
cedures and reduces the number of control steps and makes
multiple settings in succession possible.
