APPENDIX E - Serial output format

ASCII Data
The MLD outputs a data record (45 bytes) in the following format:
W, 5 chars, 5 chars, 5 chars, 5 chars, 5 chars, 5 chars, 5 chars, E
Where W can be 1, 2, 3, 4 and identifies the tracker
The 5 character packets correspond to:
Pressure (or button), X pos, Y pos, Z pos, X vel, Y vel, and Z vel
the packets are separated by an ASCII comma ",".
The ASCII character "E" identifies the end of the data record.
If "continuous mode" is enabled the MLD will stream data records at approximately the
sampling frequency that the system is set at.
If "on request mode" is enabled the MLD will need to receive a "1", "2", "3", or "4"
character and then it will return a data record.
Side note: if the requests for data are faster than the MLD can generate it then it will give you
the most recent values.
