CONDITIONS
D1 RETRIEVE THE DTCS
Scan Tool
Retrieve and Document Continuous DTCs
Clear Continuous DTCs
On-Demand Self-Test
Wiper Self-Test
D2 CHECK THE WIPER SWITCH OUTPUTS

Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
CHECK the windshield wiper motor; REFER to Windshield Wiper Motor — Current Draw Test.
REPLACE the windshield wiper motor if it does not pass the test; REFER to
Windshield
Wiper. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
REPAIR Circuit 58 (W). CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
DETAILS/RESULTS/ACTIONS
Are any DTCs recorded?
Yes
If DTC B1438, GO to
D2
.
If DTC B1441, GO to
D2
.
If DTC B1446, GO to
D8
.
If DTC B1450, GO to
D2
.
If DTC B1453, GO to
D2
.
If DTC B1342, REPLACE the GEM; REFER to
system for normal operation.
No
GO to D2.
Monitor the PID WPMODE while turning the wiper switch through all the switch positions.
