• For the split-port change to take effect, you must reload the system after issuing the command. Save
your configuration.

Power Up the S6000 System

Supply power to the S6000 after it is mounted in a rack or cabinet.
Dell Networking recommends re-inspecting your system prior to powering up. Verify that the:
• equipment is properly secured to the rack and properly grounded.
• equipment rack is properly mounted and grounded.
• ambient temperature around the unit (which may be higher than the room temperature) is within the
limits specified for the S6000.
• airflow around the S6000 unit is sufficient.
• input circuits are correctly sized for the loads and that you are using sufficient over-current protection
devices.
• protective covers on the S6000 are in place.
• blank panels are installed over all openings in the S6000 chassis that would have contained optional
modules.

Power Up Sequence

When the system powers up, the fans immediately come on at high speed. The fan speed slows as the
system continues to boot up.
The PWR LED blinks until the boot-up sequence is complete. When boot up is complete, the PWR LED
becomes steadily lit.
