NOTE
If the engine does not start after pressing the engine button followed by the lock button, the transmitter will emit two
short beeps to indicate the signal has been sent. It will then emit a long buzzer sound and the indicator is shown in
the display to indicate the engine start was not successful.
Indicator of the engine start failure:
Verify all the conditions listed below are met and try to start the engine again.
Display
The door, tailgate (or the hatch glass if
equipped) or trunk lid is open.
The engine hood is open.
The doors are unlocked.
Continuous start inhibition.
The gearshift lever is in a position other than the
"P" position.
The ignition key is inserted in the ignition switch
or when the keyless access system switch is on.

Probable cause

• All the doors are closed and locked.
• The tailgate (and the hatch glass if equipped)
or the trunk lid is closed.
• The engine hood is securely closed.
• All the doors are closed and locked.
• Refer to the NOTE of "Remote Engine Starter
System" for further information. (page 10)
• The gearshift lever is in the "P" (Park) position.
• The ignition key is removed from the ignition
switch.
• The keyless access system switch is off.
Only on vehicles equipped with the keyless access system.
