    3.0 Pre-Operation Inspection Exhaust gas contains poisonous carbon monoxide. Never run the generator in an enclosed area. Be sure to provide adequate ventilation. Operate the generator on a level surface. If the generator is tilted, fuel spillage may result. Keep away from rotating parts while the generator is running. The generator is air-cooled and may be damaged if ventilation is not adequate.

    3.2 - Fuel Level Check 1. Check the fuel level by reading the gauge or removing the fuel tank cap to visually check the level. 2. Refuel if level is too low. Tighten the fuel tank cap securely after refilling. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine stopped.

    3.3 - Check the Air Filter 1. Remove the metal cover on the canopy. 2. Remove the screw on the outside of the air filter cover. 3. Remove the screw on the air filter element and carefully remove the filter element.

    4.2 - Starting the Generator Set ELECTRIC STARTING METHOD Batteries produce explosive gases. Keep sparks, flames and cigarettes away from the battery. To prevent the possibility creating sparks near the battery, connect the charging cables to the battery terminals first, then to the generator. When disconnecting, remove cables at generator first.
  • Page 21 REMOTE START METHOD 1. Follow Steps 1-4 from the Electricl Start Method 2. Turn engine switch to ON position 3. Holding the remote control, pull out the antenna and slide the protective cover open to reveal the power button. Point the antenna to the generator and press the ON (closed lock) button to start.

    4.3 - Using the Generator Set Allow the engine to run for approximately 2 minutes immediately after starting. This allows it to warm-up and ensures better performance. during the warm-up period, inspect the generator for excessive vibration and irregular noises. ADDING A LOAD 1.
  • Page 23 In order to maintain generator’s performance: • Always connect the generator to the ground terminal to prevent electrical shock. • Add the watt ratings of all the loads that the generator set will be powering at the same time. Make sure that total wattage will not exceed the generator rating.
  • Page 24 If the reset button extends during operation, unplug all appliances from the GFCI receptacle. The reset button should be flush with the test button. If the reset button is not flush with the test button, take it to your Hyundai-authorized generator service center.

    4.4 Stopping the Generator Set 1. Turn off all the connected devices and disconnect from outlets. 2. Turn the master breaker switch to the OFF position. 3. Allow the generator set run for a few minutes to cool down. 4. To stop the engine: • Electric Start: press engine switch to the OFF position • Remote Start: press the OFF key (open lock) on the remote control 5.

    5.3 - General Inspection 1. Look for fuel leaks around the fuel tank, fuel hose, and fuel valve. Close the fuel valve and repair leaks immediately. 2. Look and listen for exhaust leaks while the engine is running. Have all the leaks repaired before continuing operation.
