TROUBLESHOOTING

The following chart is provided to help in diagnosing the probable source of sim-
ple troubles. You may be able to solve many of these problems rather quickly,
but others may require the skills of a mechanical technician. In such cases, con-
sult an authorized Sea-Doo dealer for servicing.
NOTE:
For the definition of abbreviations used here, refer to ABBREVIATIONS
USED IN THIS MANUAL section below.
Monitoring Beeper Coded Signals
NOTE:
When the beeper sounds, also look the message displayed on the infor-
mation center to obtain more details on the problem. Refer to INFORMATION
CENTER.
CODED SIGNALS
2 short beeps (while
installing safety lanyard on
post).
1 long beep (while installing
safety lanyard on watercraft
post.)
1 short beep followed by 1
long beep.
4 short beeps every 3
seconds interval for 4 hours.
A 2 seconds beep every
minute interval.
A 2 seconds beep every 5
minutes interval.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Confirms safety lanyard
signal operation.
Bad DESS system
connection.
Wrong safety lanyard.
Defective safety lanyard.
Dried salt water in safety
lanyard cap.
Defective DESS post.
Improper operation of EMS
ECU or defective wiring
harness.
EMS ECU has been
mistakenly set to onboard
diagnostic mode.
Safety lanyard has been left
on its post without starting
engine or after engine was
stopped.
High pressure in oil
separator tank.
Low fuel level.
Fuel tank level sensor or
circuit malfunction.

REMEDY
Engine can be started.
Reinstall safety lanyard cap
correctly over post.
Use a safety lanyard that
has been programmed for
the watercraft.
Use another programmed
safety lanyard.
Clean safety lanyard cap to
remove salt water.
Refer to an authorized
Sea-Doo dealer.
Remove and reinstall safety
lanyard.
To prevent battery
discharge, remove the
safety lanyard from its post.
Refer to an authorized
Sea-Doo dealer.
Refer to an authorized
