Step 3 - Connect the speaker and microphone
The DriveDOCK cradle comes with an external speaker and microphone for
hands-free operation.
1.
Mount the speaker in the appropriate location and ensure the lead is
su cient to reach the cradle.
2.
Mount the microphone about 30cm away from where you normally
speak and ensure the lead is long enough to reach the cradle.
By default, the audio is always on the handsfree speaker and
microphone unless a Privacy Handset, an Intelligent handset or a
Bluetooth® audio device is enabled.

Step 4 - Install the external alert button (optional)
DriveDOCK Extreme provides an additional cable pair (BROWN & GREEN wires)
from its rear cable loom, known as the BEAM alarm loop. This provides a wire loop,
when connected to any passive type of Normally CLOSED button, relay, or reed
switch in which the action breaks the loop (OPEN) to activate the alarm state.
The wires are 1.5 meters long but can be extended up to 45 meters. The
alarm loop can support multiple alarm buttons/switches but they must be
wired in SERIES. In this con guration, pressing any one of the buttons will
OPEN the loop and activate the alarm and send the SOS message.
To properly register the alarm state, the loop needs to be OPEN for at least
2 seconds (ie. holding down the button for 2 seconds activates the alarm).
