Speed Control Servo C157
S3 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
PINPOINT TEST T: GAUGE IS INOPERATIVE — BOOST GAUGE
CONDITIONS
T1 CHECK BOOST GAUGE PRESSURE LINE
Disconnect the boost gauge pressure line from the intake manifold.
Apply 10 psi to the boost gauge pressure line.
Does the boost gauge indicate maximum boost pressure?
Yes
CHECK for a plugged manifold fitting. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
GO to T2.
T2 CHECK THE BOOST GAUGE
Disconnect the boost gauge pressure line from the instrument cluster.
Apply 10 psi to the boost gauge.
Does the boost gauge indicate maximum boost pressure?
Yes
INSTALL a new boost gauge pressure line. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
GO to T3.
T3 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
Check:
for corrosion
for pushed-out pins
that connector seats correctly
Connect and disconnected connectors.
Make sure all other system connectors are fully seated.
Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?

Measure the resistance between instrument cluster C236 Pin 14, circuit 203 (OG/LB), harness side and speed
control servo C157 pin 1, circuit 203 (OG/LB), harness side.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to S3.
No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
Check:
for corrosion
for pushed-out pins
that connector seats correctly
Connect and disconnected connectors.
Make sure all other system connectors are fully seated.
Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes
INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to
HEC self-test.
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
