Diagnostic Tool
Select the instrument cluster INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL active command. Trigger the instrument cluster active command MIL ON.
Is the SERVICE ENGINE SOON indicator illuminated?
Yes
REFER to Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual.
No
GO to Q2.
Q2 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
Check:
for corrosion
for pushed-out pins
that connector seats correctly
Connect and disconnected connectors.
Make sure all other system connectors are fully seated.
Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes
INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
PINPOINT TEST R: AN INDICATOR IS INOPERATIVE/ALWAYS ON — TURN/HAZARD
CONDITIONS
R1 CHECK THE TURN SIGNAL AND HAZARD LAMPS OPERATION
R2 CHECK THE CIRCUIT IN QUESTION — CIRCUIT 2 (WH/LB) (RH) OR CIRCUIT 3 (LG/WH) (LH)

in this section. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the HEC self-test.
DETAILS/RESULTS/ACTIONS
Operate the left and right turn signals.
Operate the hazard lamps.
Do the turn signals and hazard lamps operate correctly?
Yes
GO to R2.
No

Disconnect the instrument cluster C236 (RH) or instrument cluster C237 (LH).
Measure the voltage between instrument cluster C236 pin 7, circuit 2 (WH/LB), harness side and ground, while
the multifunction switch is moved to the right turn position (RH); or between instrument cluster C237 pin 4, circuit
3 (LG/WH), and ground, while the multifunction switch is moved to the left turn position (LH).
