The USB-2000 have been tested and found compliant with the limits for a Class
A digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed
to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when installed and
operated in a commercial environment. The USB-2000
generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed
and used in accordance with this user guide, may cause harmful interference
to radio communications. Operation of the USB-2000 in a residential area is likely
to cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct the

    : Notes give additional information that could make installation NOTE easier. USB-2000 Product Contents When you open your USB-2000 for the first time you should find the following items: • USB-2000 User Guide • Local EXtender (LEX) unit. • Remote EXtender (REX) unit.

    With the USB-2000, utilizing singlemode fiber, USB devices can be located up to 10km from the host computer. The USB-2000 is composed of two individual units, the LEX unit and the REX unit. Note that there are no physical differences between the -2 and -4 units.
  • Page 6 User Guide The REX unit: USB-2000 The REX unit connects to a USB device using a conventional USB cable. The REX unit allows you to connect up to four USB devices. Additional devices may be connected by attaching a conventional USB hub to the REX unit.

    User Guide Before You Begin Before you can install the USB-2000, you need to prepare your site. 1. Determine where the host computer is to be located and set up the computer. 2. Determine where you want to locate the USB device(s).
