TROUBLESHOOTING

POSSIBLE CAUSE
Disconnected or short in electrical
wiring
Burner motor thermal protector
tripped
Flex-coupling slipping on fuel
pump shaft or burner motor shaft
ON-OFF Switch defective
Heavy sooting on coil and burner,
can cause interruption of air fl ow
and shorting of electrodes
Improper electrode setting
Fuel not reaching combustion
chamber
Clogged burner nozzle
Water not turned on
Fuel solenoid malfunction
Fuel solenoid malfunction
Pressure switch malfunction
Insuffi cient voltage
Plugged nozzle
Wrong spray nozzle
Automatic overload switch tripped
Motor wet
Short in electrical wiring
Coil liming up causing excessive
pressure
Water pump low or out of oil caus-
ing the pump to bind up

SOLUTION
All wire contacts should be clean and tight.
No breaks in wire.
If tripped, check voltage, connections, and
extensions for cause. Check fuel pump shaft
rotation for binding causing motor to over-
heat.
Replace if needed.
Check continuity through burner switch.
Clean as required.
Clean and test according to diagram in Op-
erators Manual.
Check fuel pump for proper fl ow. Check sole-
noid fl ow switch on machines with spray gun
control, for proper on-off fuel fl ow control.
Replace.
Turn on water to activate burner fl ow switch.
Remove, test for continuity and replace as
needed.
Replace if needed.
Test for proper operation. Replace if needed.
Use heavier drop cord and check voltage at
receptacle. Check name plate for amperage
draw.
Remove and clean nozzle. Turn on water
pump, fl ush lines, and replace nozzle.
See serial plate for minimum nozzle size.
Allow motor to cool - then push Red reset
button.
Allow to dry.
Wire contacts should be clean and tight. No
breaks in wires.
See section on Preventative Maintenance.
Fill to correct level.
