The DGS-6600 Series Switch Hardware Installation Guide contains information on how to install the Switch
hardware. This manual is intended for network or I.T. managers familiar with network management concepts and
terminology.

Typographical Conventions

The conventions used in this Configuration Guide are explained in the following table:
Convention Description
This is used in the CLI examples to represent the text
Typewriter
that is seen in the Switch console window and the
Font
output. This is also used to indicate Switch responses.
This is used in the CLI examples to represent the
Boldface
commands that the user will type in the Switch console
Typewriter
window. The commands must be typed exactly as

printed in the manual.
This is used in the CLI examples to indicate the
BOLD UPPER
parameters in a CLI command.

Square This token specifies optional elements. A user can
brackets [ ] specify zero, one, or multiple elements.
Vertical bar | This token separates the alternative elements.
Braces { } This token specifies a required element. The user must
specify one of the elements.
, - These tokens specify that multiple interfaces can be
specified. The '-' symbol is used to represent a range
of interfaces and the ',' symbol is used to connect
multiple ranges.
Angle brackets This token represents the numeric range of a
<> parameter. The available range is enclosed in the <>
symbols.
Bold Font Indicates a Switch command or a Keyword.
Italic Font Indicates a variable or parameter that is replaced with
an appropriate word or string.
