Ê Swivel the locking lever toward the housing in the direction of the arrow and

Replacing the hard disk module
You can only replace a hard disk module during operation when the orange LED
on the hard disk module is lit continuously, i.e. when an error has occurred.
V
CAUTION!
Never remove a hard disk module during operation if you are not sure
that the hard disk module belongs to a disk array that operates in RAID
level 1, i.e. the disks are mirrored.
Clearly mark the hard disk modules (drives) so that you can install them
back in their original bays later. If you mix up the hard disks you might
lose existing data.
Proceed as follows to replace a hard disk module during operation:
Ê Press on the green ejection lever in the direction of the punched-in triangle
and pull out the defective hard disk module, holding it by the opened handle.
Ê Wait at least 60 seconds so that the RAID controller can recognize that a
hard disk module has been removed and the hard disk can come to a stand-
still.
Ê With the locking lever open, pull out the hard disk module completely.
Ê Install the new hard disk module as described under
module" on page 92
V
CAUTION!
If you have removed the hard disk module and do not replace it with a
new one, the dummy module must be reinstalled to comply with EMC
regulations, cooling requirements and fire protection measures. Make
sure that the dummy module engages properly in the bay.
