Preface

The PRIMERGY BX620 S6 dual-socket server blade constitutes the sixth
generation of extremely compact and powerful BX620 server blades. It provides
a wide range of current technologies such as the latest generation of multi-core
processors, DDR3 memory modules with powerful 3-channel architecture per
CPU, modular hard disk controller configuration, and 2.5-inch SAS/SATA
HDD/SSD modules.

The modular disk controller concept with three storage module variants allows
you to create different configurations with SAS and SATA hard disks for different
deployment scenarios. The configuration options range from the low-cost
platform with SATA disks to the high-end platform with SAS disks and a SAS
storage module with RAID5 and Cache/iTBBU.
Six onboard Ethernet channels with iSCSI support are available as communi-
cation interfaces and as an option there are two Fibre Channel or two additional
Ethernet channels.
Security functions in the BIOS Setup protect the data on the server blade from
unauthorized changes.
The BX620 S6 server blade occupies one slot in the basic unit PRIMERGY
BX600 S3. It can be installed together with other server blade modules.
