We have well water and it has a lot of calcium and lime in it. I don't use it often and I believe it has some build up in it. Can i use vinegar and water to de-scale it or will the self-clean button take care of that?

The self-clean button is designed to effectively remove calcium and lime buildup in the Black & Decker IR1350S. Vinegar should not be used, as the manual advises against using vinegar or other harsh cleaners.

The provided context does not specifically mention reasons why the spray button might not be working. However, possible reasons could include an empty water tank, clogging, or mechanical issues. Ensure the water tank is filled and check for blockages. If the issue persists, contact customer service.

The document does not provide specific heat settings for polyester, silk, and cotton fabrics. However, it states that steam is produced at settings 4 through 6, which suggests that higher settings are for thicker fabrics like cotton. Typically, polyester and silk require lower heat settings, while cotton needs higher heat. For precise settings, refer to the fabric-select dial instructions in the manual.

Why does my iron gurgle and spit out brownish spots on my ironing pad and fabric? Should I use distilled or tap water? How to clean it?

The Black & Decker IR1350S iron may gurgle and spit brownish spots due to mineral buildup in the steam vents. To prevent this, follow the AUTO CLEAN® SYSTEM instructions about once a month:
1. Fill the water tank below the MAX line and plug in the iron. 2. Set the fabric-select dial to setting 6 and place the iron on its heel rest. 3. Wait 2 minutes for the iron to heat fully, then unplug it. 4. Hold the iron over a sink and follow the cleaning process to flush out residue.
The manual does not specify whether to use distilled or tap water. However, many irons perform best with a mix of both to prevent mineral buildup while maintaining steam function.
