Reasons why your locomotive is silent or will not start

I
n case your locomotive remains silent after power up and turning the power off for 15 seconds
does not return it to normal operation, you will need to check the following points to bring
your locomotive back to normal sound operation.
To simulate the operation of the prototype, your locomotive will have a maximum

speed of 25 smph under Speed Control or Regulated Throttle Control in diesel mode.
• Make sure you are using the correct ID number.
• Make sure the locomotive has not been muted with the F8 button.
• Check to see if your volume potentiometer or digital sound has been turned all the way down.
• Bring the locomotive out of Shut Down by performing a Start Up operation. If you cannot
start your locomotive in Analog, you may have shut your locomotive down in DCC using the
F9 button. Go back to DCC operation and start your locomotive with the F6 button. Once
started, you can return to DCC operation.
If the above methods do not start your locomotive, use the reset jumper to initialize your
locomotive to factory default values.
