Chapter 3 - FTP Commands
Trace (-T or -TRACE)
Use the Trace adapter command (-T or -TRACE) to produce a diagnostics file with
the default name m4ftp.mtr in the map directory where the adapter is installed.
The file records trace information detailing the FTP adapter activity.

Because summary mode is the default, using -TRACES provides the same output
as –TRACE.
Description
Append trace information to the existing log file.
Summary mode. Record only minimal information only
in the log file. This is the default value.
Verbose mode. Record in the log file all activity
occurring while the adapter is retrieving data. If not
specified, summary mode assumed.
Create trace file with the specified name in the
specified directory. By default, the directory is where
the map is located and the file name is m4ftp.mtr.
