  • Page 5 During installation, please make sure the vent holes are not obstructed as it may lead to product malfunction. The MUTE function in the Unavi system will only work with the aftermarket built-in speaker. It can take up to 3 seconds for the sound to reappear after MUTE is turned off.

  • Page 10 Micro SD Reader The SD Card included in the Unavi unit contains important map data and operating system files for its navigation functionalities. Saving external files onto the SD Card risks corrupting this map data and as such, Unavi strongly CAUTION recommends using the SD Card only when map and firmware update is required.

    ‘Eject’ the drive prior to disconnecting any removable disks from your PC. If the microSD Card included with the Unavi system has been lost or damaged, there will be a fee to replace the microSD Card and software.

Main Features CLOCK 2-4 CLOCK Times displayed on Unavi is automatically set by receiving GPS signals from satellites and maintained by a clock circuit called the RTC (Real-Time Clock) that has an internal clock generator.     Click on the EXIT button on the top right corner When connecting an external device to the Unavi system’s Audio/Video RCA cable, the picture quality may deteriorate due to cable noise and you may experience static or a hissing sound. Depending on the cable quality and other extraneous factors, signal degradation may occur.

    Bluetooth Phone Pairing Unavi system DOES NOT include nor add the Bluetooth feature – it only utilizes the Bluetooth system built into the factory radio (if equipped).     03. Other Features & Updates SPLASH SCREEN 3-2. CUSTOMIZE LOGO / SPLASH SCREEN You can customize the splash screen (or boot image) as desired with your own picture or logo. To change the splash screen at system startup, select and prepare an image file with the following format: Image Resolution: 800 x 480 Image Format: BMP (24-bit) (image filename must be renamed to “BootLogo.bmp”)
  • Page 40 4. Insert the SD Card back into the Multi-Box (Make sure to properly ‘Eject’ the SD Card drive prior to removing it from the computer). 5. Turn on the Unavi system. If the above procedures are followed, your splash screen will have changed automatically upon startup.

    1. Eject SD Card from the Multi-Box (usually located inside the glove compartment). 2. Visit www.unavi-usa.com to download proper firmware for your Unavi model. Then decompress the designated update file. 3. Once the update file has been decompressed and extracted, ‘UPDATE_USA’ folder and ‘UpdateProgram.exe’ file will appear.

    4-1. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE If you experience problems with your Unavi system, please refer to this section. The most common problems are listed below, along with likely causes and solutions. If a solution to your problem cannot be found here, contact your dealer or the nearest authorized Unavi service facility.
  • Page 43 Check to see if cables are connected properly. Make sure AV cable from the external device is connected to the audio/video input port on the back of the Unavi system (yellow composite port for video, white and red for audio).
  • Page 44 4-1. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE Clock displays incorrect time. Manually setting the clock is not required as Unavi system automatically adjusts time based on the GPS. Check to see if there is GPS signal reception in the current location. If the clock is off by an hour or two, check time zone and DST settings in the navigation menu.

Unavi system by default plays all navigation prompts and touch command tones through the external speaker (usually located behind the dash) or by simply switching to the AUX mode, which can be engaged by hitting the ‘Mode/Source’...
  • Page 46 Make sure only one radio control button is being pressed at a time. Unavi system may have overridden the steering wheel buttons to allow control of media player functionalities. To disengage the system from this control mode, press and hold ‘Mode’ button on the steering wheel for about 3 seconds.

    Unavi system is not compatible with packet write data transfer. Unavi system can recognize up to 32 characters, beginning with the first character, including extension for the file and folder name. Depending on the display area, the system may try to display them with a reduced font size. However, the maximum number of the characters that you can display varies according to the width of each character, and of the display area.

    Before sending any products for repair, we recommend that you contact the service location for information regarding your specific model, out of warranty service fees, and return shipping charges. UNAVI will not be held responsible for installation or shipping charges in accordance with the service of out of warranty units.
  • Page 52 Coverage of Damage Costs: If a vehicle must be towed due to a UNAVI product defect, we will cover all towing and/or rental car charges (car must be of similar class to the your car with receipt) until the exchange occurs.
