INSTALLINg fIREPLACE
COMPONENTS
Install all fireplace components in this section
in the order listed below.
Note: Complete all steps under
"FIELD WIRING" (previous two
pages) before proceeding.

1. Install vent restrictor.

[REQUIRED WITH CERTAIN VENT RUNS —
PROVIDED WITH FIREPLACE]
If not already done, install the provided vent
restrictor (if required for your specific venting
con fig uration) before proceeding. See Page
16 for complete details.
2. Install reflector from Panel
Backlighting kit.
[OPTIONAL]
See Rhapsody Required and Optional
Acces sories manual 506019-84.
3. Install Panel kit.
[REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY]
Install the two side panels first; then the back
panel.
See Rhapsody Required and Optional

4. Install light assemblies from
Panel Backlighting kit.
[OPTIONAL]

5. Install floor kit and media*.
[REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY]

6. Install baffle.
[REQUIRED — PROVIDED WITH FIREPLACE]
Note: Panel Kit must be installed before
baffle can be installed.
With the baffle oriented as shown in Figure
48, slide the rear tabs into the slots in the
back panel.
While sliding the tabs into the slots, slide the
front lip of the baffle under the clips in the
firebox ceiling.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Make sure the fireplace is OFF
and COLD.
2. Remove the fireplace glass
door assembly, if installed (see
Figure 49).
3. Place an even layer of media
in recessed area around burner
(bold outlined area).
IMPORTANT!
• Do NOT mound up media,
especially on the burner.
• If using multiple colors of
media, NEVER use more than
five (5) pounds total (approx.) at
one time.
4. Reinstall the glass door
assembly.

• dO NOT attempt to install panels until the appliance installation has
been completed, the gas-line has been connected and tested for leaks,
and initial burner operation has been checked.
• The media (required with some floor kits) was designed to provide a
safe, reliable, attractive flame. Any attempt to use media not speci-
fied for this fireplace will result in incomplete combustion, sooting,
and poor flame quality, and will void the warranty.
• Media gets very HOT during fireplace use and will remain hot up to
ONE HOUR after gas supply is turned off. HANdLE MEdIA ONLy WHEN
COOL. Turn Off all electricity to the appliance before installing media.
• If media is not installed according to the installation instructions,
flame impingement and improper combustion could occur, resulting
in soot and/or excessive production of carbon monoxide (CO), a TOxIC
gas that is colorless and odorless.
• This appliance is NOT designed to burn wood. Any attempt to burn
wood in this fireplace may be a safety hazard, cause irrepairable
damage the appliance, and void the warranty.
