Reference: b-LAN Setup & Overview
Power to the b-LAN module is controlled by Installer Menu item 118 POWER SAVINGS. The default value is 003. The
b-LAN module is only powered when the TV is turned ON. See chart below.
Power Savings
The b-LAN module is internal to the TV. It allows the Hotel/Institution head end equipment to communicate with the TV
for configuration
and control. This communication is via the institution's RF distribution system. The control device at the
head end (Example: FMA-LG101) can control multiple TVs. When the TV is first installed, it must be turned ON in order
for the head end to be able to communicate with the b-LAN. At this point, if it is desired for the b-LAN to always be pow-
ered, including during Standby Mode, disable Installer Menu item 118 POWER SAVINGS by setting it to 001. The new
settings will not be active until the b-LAN actually downloads the configuration data to the PTC and the PTC is reset.
If the application only requires use of the MPI card slot, and the embedded b-LAN will not be used, the installer can go
into the Installer Menu and enable maximum power savings in both Standby and TV Power On Mode by setting Installer
Menu item 118 POWER SAVINGS to 007.
