Troubleshooting

NOTE: The following symptoms do not necessarily indicate the accessory malfunction. Before having your Honda dealer
repair the accessory, confirm that the ignition key can start your engine. If the engine does not start, have the dealer
check and troubleshoot your vehicle before repairing the accessory.
Consult with your Honda dealer for the problems other than those listed below and on the following pages.
Symptom
The gearshift lever is in a position other than
the "P" position.
The keyless entry-integrated key or ignition key
is inserted in the ignition switch.
The door is open.
Engine does not
The engine hood is open.

The tailgate or trunk lid is open.
transmitter.
The transmitter batteries are discharged.
The transmitter is operated too far from the
vehicle.
NOTE: In some cases the remote transmission
range can be longer than the reception range.
Therefore the engine can be started/stopped,
and the remote status may not be displayed.

Probable cause
Remedy
Set the gearshift lever in the "P" position.

Remove the keyless entry-integrated key or
ignition key from the ignition switch. (page 11)
Close the door. (page 11)
Close the engine hood. (page 11)
Close the tailgate or trunk lid. (page 11)
Replace the batteries with new ones. (Use
lithium batteries CR2032.) (page 26)
Operate the transmitter within the remote
control range. (page 15)
