    ) is a data-structure, provided by a display, to describe its capabilities to the source. The EDID enables the VM-2HDCP to “know” what kind of monitor is connected to the output. The EDID includes the manufacturer’s name, the product type, the timing data supported by the display, the display size, luminance data and (for digital displays only) the pixel mapping data.

    OUT 1 connector, press the EDID button when the OUT1 LED is on OUT 2 connector, press the EDID button when the OUT2 LED is on In either case, the VM-2HDCP copies the EDID from the display. If no display is connected to the selected DVI output, the default EDID will be chosen.
