Acquiring the EDID Initially, the VM-2DP operates with the factory default EDID (the VM-2DP reads the EDID, which is stored in its non-volatile memory). This lets you connect the power before connecting one of the acceptors or sources. The EDID is usually acquired once, when the machine is being set up in an installation.
