HP ProLiant BL45p Server Blade User Guide
Always populate processor socket 2 with a processor or a 1P enabler board
and a processor blank. If processor socket 2 is empty, the server blade does
not boot.
The server blade supports configurations with one, two, or four processors.
This server blade does not support a 3P configuration.
Always use AMD Opteron™ 800 Series processors purchased from HP.

Removing a processor blank and 1P enabler board

To install the component:
1. Back up all data on the hard drive.
2. Power down the server blade (on page 22).
3. Remove the access panel.
4. Remove the processor blank and 1P enabler board.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot
surfaces, allow the drives and the internal system components to
cool before touching them.
